JOB PURPOSE The Merchandising Manager is responsible for overseeing purchasing activities in Japan and the Islands. This role involves managing merchandising activities-including buying, new product launch strategies, network and distribution management, and markdown planning-to ensure optimal performance and sell-through results. Additionally, the Merchandising Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional departments, particularly the headquarters team, to align strategies and drive overall business success. RESPONSIBILITIES Work with Senior Merchandising Manager to achieve sales/sell-through targets Manage and monitor sales performance daily/monthly/annually to achieve sales budget Plan buying strategy and align with report line and HQ team Identify target assortment for matching regional market needs to maximize sales opportunity Product training for regional team, including stores before the launch of new season as well as in season Work for special projects such as (Capsules, Store Events, Store Restyling, Popup, Gaisho events etc.) Manage and monitor inventory level to maximize sales and keep stable inventory for carry over by store level and to reach sell-through target of seasonal options Conduct extensive market research and analysis Create strong collaboration with VMD, Retail, Stores and other related divisions KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Bachelor's degree or Equivalent Business level of English and Japanese 10+ years of MD experiences in luxury industries Experiences in retail environment with hands-on knowledge of retail processes and procedures Ability to travel Joining our Company means working in a creative and international environment, with teams of people motivated by curiosity and the quest for excellence.     業務内容 10% DTC Growth strategy Outline profitable DTC growth plans for selected channels across category, price architecture and gender classification while maintaining appropriate style/SKU counts 30% Seasonal assortments for DTC channels Lead seasonal development of Japan DTC assortments; ensuring assortments deliver the consumer requirements and financial targets Maintain the style-color count targets seasonally, accounting for brand strategies, sales history, and trend for Ecom and Retail channels Analyze size level performance on Gender/ Business Unit level, and in partner with across functional members including allocation, suggest sized buy plans for ordering on style level. Partner with Ecom, Retail and Integrated planning teams to ensure seasonal forecasts reflect product initiatives, brand strategy, and demand plans. Work with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the quantitative and qualitative feedback on the range is accurate and delivered in a timely manner Execute the order entry for selected DTC channels. 40% In-season monitoring Work with Ecom, Retail, Integrated Planning and Marketing teams to identify in-season opportunities by analyzing all retail metrics, by categories and styles Drive weekly, monthly, quarterly and seasonal reporting against an initial plan. Lead the discussion on actions needed based on a gap between the initial plan and actual situations. Review weekly sales at style level and suggest decisions for promotions, price changes, re-buy needs, stock transfers etc, from each product situation perspective. 15% Product Allocation Decide initial allocation for new products of selected channels (FPS, ECOM, and Outlet) as pre-season Request product allocation to an assistant on the principles of ensuring right products, right quantity, right place and right time frame, in addition to stock back products depending on store capacity and product strategies Instruct an allocation assistant to replenish stock per target parameters for maximizing profit and stock turn Control and Improve allocation process in conjunction with an allocation assistant, cross functional members and a warehouse staff Request an allocation assistant to grasp the latest product delivery schedule and highlight important information Manage to review, analyze and propose adjustments to allocation plans, based on current trends, each channel's performance and feedback from DTC members Lead proactive transfer and consolidation for available stock to avoid miss business opportunities 5% DTC Planning process Create and develop the DTC specific GTM calendar, ensuring we are meeting all key deliverables seasonally Prepare presentations for all stakeholders at key seasonal meetings. 副業禁止 Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Economics Work Experience: - 7+ years of Merchandising, or related experience in a performance Footwear & Apparel brand. - DTC-specific Merchandising and Planning experience is preferred. - Prefer to have the experience in sports brands but not a must-have Skills/Competencies: - Highly analytical and metrics-driven.
