We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Retail Training and Performance Manager, Japan to deliver, uphold and plan the various components of training at Aesop. In this leadership role you will represent the Aesop brand and be able to adapt and challenge multiple learning styles. You will demonstrate exceptional customer service, product knowledge and integrity at Aesop.

Responsibilities include:

Plan, prepare and facilitate training sessions for all of people working in Retail team such as store managers and retail consultants: both new and existing. This pertains to the following programs but is not limited to: Induction Training Workshop; Follow Up Training Workshop; New product or campaign launch and training; Management at Aesop Workshop.
Regular visits to Aesop retail spaces with the purpose of analysis and observation of performance and mentor and coach retail staff as required to ensure the highest standard of staff performance. Track retail staff performance and measure the outcomes and effectiveness of the overall training plan, working closely with Store Manager and Retail Business Managers.
Monitor the performance of new products throughout the launch period, and periodically throughout the first 12 months of its life. Communicate customer anecdotes, share successes and offer further education on the product as required across the network, to ensure the product assimilates into the range.
Be an Aesop advocate; host press and customers and deliver public presentations at events.
To lead by example in customer service, product prescription, Aesop demonstration techniques and personal presentation and grooming.
In line with the training facilitation; coordinate all workshop administration and preparation and ensure all pre and post workshop activities are completed by attendees.
Manage and coach a team of trainers (2-3) ensuring they are performing and engaged
Assist in the creation of other learning modules to be delivered at various times throughout the year, relevant to Japan.
Work with the Marketing team to advise on appropriate seasonality of new product selections and ensure new product information (such as product labels, press releases, customer emails, product blueprints) is consistent with the Aesop approach to skincare as well as the training materials and program.
Work closely with Regional Trainer to address training strategy and training needs in order for Regional and Global training teams to build future relevant training programs.
This position will be reporting to National Retail Manager

You are an engaging individual who is passionate about Aesop’s brand and products. You will deliver best practice service training and ensure those you train are able to identify and replicate these standards. You understand your audience and tailor your training approach accordingly. If you are an effective communicator (English & Japanese) with exceptional training & coaching skills and a minimum of three years’ management experience, we would love to hear from you.
