To successfully manage and understand the people and business needs of Aesop, focusing on Japan. To provide operational and commercially sound advice and direction on all Human Resources (HR) related issues (front line recruitment, performance management, talent management, job evaluation, remuneration and reward, Health and Safety, legislation).To contribute to the development of Aesop’s HR strategy and manage the implementation of effective people solutions across the region.To be actively involved in the Leadership Team.To work on a broad range of HR related projects and initiatives, and partnering with the HR People Services team on day to day HR administration support for the four markets.
Ensure the entitlements of agreements are upheld and compliant with relevant regulations.
Provide advice and direction on Aesop policies and procedures, and develop new polices as required. Ensure alignment with all legislation.
Keep up-to-date with relevant employment legislation and liaise with external lawyers on legal issues as required.
Increase leadership capability and engagement by providing the support and tools line managers need to be able to make their own people decisions.
Manage and implement HR projects across the business.
Manage immigration/migration issues as required.
Support Head of HR Asia with the management of global and regional remuneration for Aesop.
Manage the implementation and maintenance of SharePoint for HR use across the region.
Conduct training around policies and procedures, recruitment as required.
Participate in projects with the broader global HR team
Work closely with all managers and key personnel to ensure that they embody the culture as defined and set an appropriate example
Work with the HR Coordinator or Office Manager to ensure that Head Office culture is consistent across the region.

Recruitment & Induction
Work with People Services team on develop, drive and maintain Aesop frontline recruitment strategy, aligned with Aesop’s global and regional HR strategy, reviewing regularly to ensure delivery and freshness
Recruit and select employees that reflect the culture and values of Aesop
Provide a thorough internal recruitment service which utilises a variety of methodologies and sources
Recognise vacancies and create new job descriptions where required
Communicate with line managers to understand, define and budget people requirements for frontline retail and office
Actively network and identify potential candidates to maintain a candidate pool
Respond in a timely and professional manner to applicants
Manage that the HR department screens applications, conducts initial interviewing and further interviewing as required
Assess and make effective recommendations for the use of psychological assessment and case studies
Ensure mandatory pre-employment checks are carried out across the region
Draft and negotiate job offers according to company guidelines
Consistently maintain and update Aesop standards of Equal Opportunity Employment
Ensure all employees are effectively inducted
Assist line manager to monitor and coach new team members through probation period, if necessary
Compensation & Benefit
Check monthly payroll, commission calculation for retail staff and payslip and work closely with the Payroll Outsourced Service Providers to ensure the amounts are correct
Handle all final payments
Handle all employee compensation cases
Handle yearly taxation
Assist for annual budgeting process and the owner of budgeting
Lead Cluster Managers for the year-end salary review process and prepare the proposal
Yearly group medical, EC insurance and other staff benefit review
Proposal and implementation of Staff training subsidy program
Coach line managers in carrying out performance management as required.
Provide advice and support regarding behavioural management and disciplinary action.
Support line managers with conducting Quarterly Conversations.
Advise on behavioural management and disciplinary action
Review and manage counselling and support provided to employees.
