Key objectives of the role:
Newsroom is a team of PR, content marketing, and social media marketing specialists that create engaging and impactful stories to help the world connect with brand SHISEIDO and its products. Newsroom Manager will lead a digital savvy PR and social media marketing team that defines the story for brand SHISEIDO, positions the brand in the marketplace, protects the brand’s reputation and inspires our communities around the world.

Create and drive compelling and strategic stories and campaigns to define and elevate the brand’s share of voice. Work will focus on telling stories that position brand SHISEIDO as a forward-thinking, innovative, and creative brand that has strong connection with art and culture, while relating to how today’s young consumers interacts with brands and influences today’s beauty landscape.
Act as a strategic partner with IMC planning lead, brand managers with the objective of elevating brand awareness and driving sales.
Strategize international initiatives and ensure feasibility for effective execution at the market level, in conjunction with brand goals and brand as well as line objectives.
Lead the PR efforts by fostering an inter-affiliate relationship and providing vision and guidance to develop a PR roadmap.
Main areas of responsibility
Build awareness of brand SHISEIDO momentum and impact on the industry through key initiatives and campaigns
Build and maintain relationships with key business, lifestyle and culture media.
Shape, grow and protect the brand SHISEIDO through strategic and creative storytelling.
Develop written materials, including messaging, communications strategies and FAQs, etc.
Strategy & Planning

Develop and implement PR, content marketing, social media, and influencer marketing strategies for new product launches and events in line with brand priorities and objectives and monitor results/review key learnings with all markets
Prioritize and identify key market needs and challenges in order to build overall Global Communication strategies with Marketing and Communication leadership team.
Collaborate with regional PR/ Media teams to develop strategic framework of media plans and overall media strategies for major Fashion Weeks including an assessment and new strategic direction for new major events in the calendar.
Collaborate with Regional Marketing, Beauty Creation, and Special Events initiatives
Collect local key insights and learning, and help integrate them into Global Communications strategies and planning

Media & Influencer Relations

Create relationships with global media to drive coverage for brand
Investigate and identify local opportunities with markets to promote and build positioning of brand — particularly major events and designer/influencer/ beauty creator partnerships
Communicate with Regional PR managers/ agencies on a daily basis to ensure markets are fully and promptly serviced
Assist with media opportunities by facilitating interviews with Brand Director as well as brand management team
Monitor product offerings to global markets for trend and PR
Identify and establish relationships with the key influencers, such as fashion designers, bloggers/ vloggers, and beauty creators. And design communications for the product, together with content marketing manager.

Event Management

Assist with requests from international markets for fashion weeks if applicable
Support brand/ category activities in key markets and realize ROI through PR, social media, and influencer marketing. Recognize opportunities and support activity where necessary
Manage & coordinate press activities and schedules
Support new door openings of any flagship or strategic locations with PR and media plans

  • Ability to liaise with senior management and influence key decision-makers

Technical/Specific Experience
  • At least 8 years of experiences in PR, social media, and influencer marketing
  • Strong knowledge of public relations and media in global markets
  • Strong knowledge of social media, influencer marketing program, and content marketing
  • Experienced in executing national and international press strategies
  • Understanding of multiple countries and their cultures, with high awareness of trends in fashion and the beauty industry.
  • Experience in writing for global audiences
  • Prestige brand experience is preferred
  • Excellent English skills and Fluent Japanese preferred
