Key objectives of the role:
Media Strategy and Program Lead is responsible for running global media management program as well as key media partnerships across the Shiseido companies, and additionally developing and executing the strategic media framework for global brand SHISEIDO as part of brand Shiseido’s Omni-channel Marketing Group. This position is required to form strong relationships throughout marketing and communication organizations at headquarters and media teams across the regions in order to build excellence in the global media strategy and program that includes, but not limited to, effective governance model, strategic framework, efficient information sharing process, and performance measurement so it can create sizeable impacts on media executions across global markets.

This role is responsible for elevating our approach to media including:

Manage the global media management program end-to-end through a key agency relationship (Dentsu Aegis Network) and participate in strategic digital media relationships (Facebook, Google, etc) in liaison with regional media teams as well as Digital COE.
Deliver media planning frameworks, consolidate KPIs, and suggest future vision for how to connect with evolving consumer behaviors with media.
Support the brand teams to be the champion of data and insight driven, integrated, and cross-channel human experiences leveraging the use of media touch points to deliver to the right person, at the right place, with the right message.
Main areas of responsibility
Global Media Management Program:

Run global media program and work with the partner agency as well as regions to manage global services and process.
Develop and manage the global media scheme – planning & buying.
Oversee relationships with new and existing external media partners/ publishers to deliver strategic value for the business.
Responsible for driving media and partnership value with improving ROI.
Help link global and regional media and partnerships, and lead the media knowledge share.
Lead the global media selection as appropriate.
Audit agency services in key markets, organize evaluation process, and negotiate the final compensation against consolidated performance.
Organize the liaison committee. Define key agenda, consolidate feedbacks, clarify issue areas, and orchestrate next steps.
Ensure the efforts are meaningful for key stakeholders.
Media Strategy and Planning for brand SHISEIDO:

Support a fully integrated marketing communications plan for media (paid, owned, and earned) in partnership with digital media and CRM leads.
Maintain and consistently communicate a compelling media and partnership strategy which reinforces brand purpose to achieve business goals.
Consult and influence planning activities for complex multimedia campaigns with big budgets, multiple partners, and stakeholders.
Participate in the annual brand communications planning process; responsible for identifying strategic insights through consumer media behavior, trends, past learning, and category/purchase behaviour.
Assist in the development of best practices for implementing strategic thinking for the brand.
Lead competitive reviews with agency, communicate insights and opportunities.
Help reshape brand SHISEIDO’s media practice to become agile.
Partner with other members of Omni-channel Marketing Group to advance brand SHISEIDO’s programmatic roadmap and actively engage with regional media teams.
Help direct the integration of data with agency and business partners to effectively reach specific audience segments.
Consolidate annual media planning & portfolio management to provide visibilities in brand management as well as creative executions.
Demonstrate thought leadership for brand SHISEIDO by pushing for new directions and ideas towards regions.

  • Minimum of 10 years of media and global media management program experience, with at least 5 in digital media specifically.
  • Expert knowledge of media landscape with ability to translate to impact marketing opportunities.
  • Strong competency in programmatic marketing across channels.
  • Successful prior experience working with network of teams to translate marketing objectives into functional consumer channel strategies and tactics.
  • Experience in communications planning, digital strategy and performance based media.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute media and strategic partnerships that drive sales volume and brand perception shifts.
  • Solid quantitative skills to perform post-program analysis.
  • Commitment to results; ability to incorporate new learning into existing plans and act decisively.
